Site Visit to NICE 15 June 2009:
Giri Kolanupaka (Asha Hyderabad)
It was quite unexpected visit and was not planned at all. We (myself and PCR) left by train from Secunderabad station to attend Pavan's (volunteer of Asha Hyderabad) marriage in Tanuku on 14th June.
After we attended his marriage, we rented a car to go to Vijayawada bus stop. But realized that all the buses are fully booked to Hyderabad and all we had to do is hire a taxi to go to NICE and have a sleep over that night at NICE itself.
We reached NICE at about 1 AM and we had to wake up few students (unfortunately) to help us comfortable sleep.
All the students woke up early (5AM) as there was a bell that rang. All of them started to do their morning formalities and all of them got involved in respective assignments of cleaning and other activities.
I thought the students are very disciplined and I am totally amazed by the way they are behaving. Hats off to all the teachers and the management. I have seen the 10th standard students marks who have passed 10th with 100% results and 100% first class. Out of 9 students, 5 of them secured above 70% marks with distinction and rest secured above 60% (first class). This really proves the education quality provided. I left NICE at 9 AM and it was a very short visit and still was exposed to lot of things. All the students gave me a good send off in a very disciplined manner, by forming a line.
