Saurabh Madan + Discussed Saurabh's
presentation at the meeting. + 1.5 million in the
general funds. No progress on the processes to be used to disburse the funds.
+ Met the organizers
of Asha SV's marathon program. + Marathon program is
as good as any other professional program. + Practice runs have
water station. + Collective
buying. + Respected coach. He
has run Boston marathon. They work pro bono. + Social program
besides running. + Discussed other
agenda items that were on the meeting Topic #2 Project: Astha Presenter: Aanchal + Site visit in Nov by
Aanchal. + Education center for
disabled kids. + Going further they
want to include programs covered by RTE. + Astha chosen for WAH
2011. + WAH requires a
formal approval, in a chapter meeting, to be a valid proposal in WAH
2011. + We will use last
year's used amount (not the approved amount) for WAH 2011. + Approved amount for
WAH : Rs. 3, 32, 538/- + Budget details will

used during calendar year 2012. + How different would
this program be with WAH support? + What % of the total
budget we support? We support one center in Delhi. We support at

worked in a NGO in Bangalore will be presenting in the next chapter
meeting. + Which weekend should
we use for the workshop? July 19th or July 26 are the contenders now. + Picnic is in August.

"red flag" projects which don't have site visits, or annual
updates. + May be looking for a
coord in the future. + "Women
Development" discussion in UW. Mostly discussed the problems non-profits
face. But no solutions discussed. Topic #5 PR Updates: Presenter: Aanchal Saxena + No updates. Topic #6 Newsletter Updates: Presenter: Vibhavaree + April newsletter is
done. It is yet to be printed and mailed. + We are catching
up. + Looking for
submissions for the July newsletter. Topic #7 Team Asha: Presenter: Prema
Grandhi + 18 runners will be
running the Rock and Roll marathon on June 25th. + Kickoff the 2nd part
of the season after Rock and Roll. + Please volunteer for
the event and encourage the runners. + STP in July. Topic #8 Project: Tomorrow’s
Foundation: Presenter: Tapoja + Site visit will be
presented in this meeting. + Seattle supports
Community Based Education Project. + This has been
renamed to Community Education and Empowerment Program (CEEP). + Work
with deprived children. + Discussed the
mission of the non-profit. + Activities:
Education, vocational training, Half Way Home, Health programs. + Expenditures: Rs.
1,06,51,811/- + CEEP: Seattle
supports Rs. 485000/-. Approximately 50% of the CEEP project. + CEEP: Seattle
supports 8 centers. Totally 14 centers. + Site visit: Visited
6 centers. + Site Visit in Dec
2010. + Centers are of
various sizes. Tomorrow's Foundation gets the locations for free. + Children of various
ages. + Teachers are from
the local community. + Teachers also make
house visits. + Looked at some
pictures. + Presented the
observation for each community center. + Center 1: 114
Lockgate - Derozio: Also a balwadi. + Center 2: 113
Lockgate - Ramakrishna Sporting Club. + Center 3, 4, 5, 6... + Pics from other
projects... + Concerns that funds
are getting diverting to new projects. + Long term projects
may be getting neglected. + Do we have the audit
reports? Reply: Yes.We do. But finding separated out items for CEEP will
be difficult. + Call Tomorrow's
Foundation and get things clarified. + Conduct a site visit
of the supported projects and make sure Asha Seattle money is being used for
the purpose it was meant for. Send funds only after that. Topic #9 Project: AHEAD: Presenter: Tapoja + Requested funds to
hire a new Executive Head for AHEAD. This is required as the current head is
retiring. + Requesting 7.2 lakhs
for 2 years. + As Seattle is not
