TEA Trust

1)	Their report probably was sent back due to mailbox problem.  They’ve been asked to re-send.
2)	Melli visited last summer, and observed a huge caste bias among other things.  Refer to site visit report from Aug 2004.
3)	They wanted to add a third school, which we did for the year 2004-2005.  We also provided plates for this third school.
4)	Melli & Bijay spoke to Mr. Arputham last month.  
a)	Govt. had appointed teachers.  Now there are 3 teachers in the third school, and 2 teachers in the two other schools.  So Mrs. Lakshmi asked Mr. Arputham to not appoint an Asha supported teacher at the third school. 
b)	With this development, it is unclear what value-add our Asha supported teachers have in the other two schools.  This has to be thought through by us, and we have to see how to proceed next.
5)	In the immediate future there was a vote to fund 2nd installment.  This would only be for Mr. Arputham’s salary and two teachers’ salaries.  It amounts to a small additional sum, as there is money remaining at the project.  Vote to finish installment 6 Yes, 0 No
6)	Discussion must continue on strategy.  Either Melli or Bijay will plan to visit within the next year.
