One Month Cultural Camp for Rescued Girls, Rescued Children and Exploited Women

A Cultural Camp was organized by ODANADI in collaboration with the Government of India under the "SWADHAR PROJECT" from 15.04.2003 to 17.05.2003, at the Odanadi Seva Trust premises in Hootagalli, Mysore. This camp aimed at providing knowledge in the field of mental health, developing leadership and human qualities, self-confidence, sense of oneness, yoga, logic, forgetting pains in life and be cheerful, folk culture, art of drawing, life histories etc. etc.

 

Aims of the Cultural Camp:

The participants of the camp are -

In order to re-integrate with the society and rehabilitate the above mentioned, a camp was organized for about 120 women and children to develop various skills like yoga, dance, jokes, drawing, theatre activities, terracotta, meditation etc. etc among them. Apart from these leadership skills, confidence to face difficulties and self-defence, knowledge about environment were also kept in mind. The camp was organized mainly to focus on bringing back the above mentioned people to the main stream of the society. Along with this it was also focussed on developing the feeling of oneness among the participants and to make them to take an oath towards living together to achieve success in all walks of life.

Resource Persons:

  1. Mr. Basavalingaiah:
  2. He is a Former Director of Rangayana and a well-known Theatre Activist. He is awarded with State and National Awards. He is graduated from the National School of Drama. He is at present Cultural Advisor to the Administrative Training Institute of Karnataka. He is the President of "Jana Samskruti Sangha". He is also a lauded theatre personality in the global theatre.

  3. Mr. Selvaraj:
  4. He is a Back Stage Worker of Karnataka Rangayana and also a theatre artist. He has represented Indian theatre in many international festivals, held in different countries like Germany, etc.

  5. Mr. Sampath Kumar:
  6. He hails from Bangalore. He is a known dramatist, actor and a known director.

  7. Mr. Ismail Gonala:
  8. He is a well-known Music Director, also a Folk Artist and a Theatre Artist. He is popular in the whole of Karnataka in this regard.

  9. Mrs. Shantha Kulkarni:
  10. She is a Teacher, Music Director, a noted Singer too. She attains a wide knowledge about the art of Meditation.

  11. Mr. Sridhar Murthy:
  12. He is a Theatre Artist and a Costume Designer. Apart from this he is also an organizer of the back stages activities. He has secured a place in the Karnataka Theatre world.

  13. Mr. Shivu:
  14. He is a Theatre Artist and a Costume Designer. Apart from this he is also an organizer of the back stages activities. He has secured a place in the Karnataka Theatre world.

  15. Mr. Shankaraiah Ghanti:
  16. He is a Lecturer in the Kuvempu University. He is a well-known Drama Director cum Writer. He is also a well-known Scholar.

  17. Mr. Iqbal Ahmed:
  18. He is a Famous Kannada Scholar, possessing wide knowledge in the field of child theatre.

  19. Dr. Ramnath:
  20. He is a DMS Lecturer. He is a Scholar, Scientist and possess the skill of teaching Science in simple methods.

  21. Mr. K. T. Shiva Prasad:
  22. He is an International Artist cum Architect. He is a State Award winner in the field of Art and Architecture. He is a member of Karnataka Raitha Sangha and Dalitha Sangharsha Samiti.

  23. Prof. K. Ramdas:
  24. He is a retired Lecturer. He is also a Social Thinker and is known for his spontaneous voice against all social evils including communalism, feudalism and other exploitations.

  25. Dr. Lingadevaru Halemane:
  26. He is a Scholar in Central Institute of Indian Languages and also a Social Thinker as well as a distinguished personality in Indian literary world.

  27. Mr. G. T. Narayana Rao:
  28. A Science Columnist and a noted space scholar, who has written a numerous books on the Universe.

  29. Mr. G. K. Govinda Rao:
  30. He is a Film Artist, Thinker and has won the State Award for acting in Films.

  31. Mr. Krupakar and Mr. Senani:
  32. They are well known Environment Specialists, famed Wild Life Photographers and possess vast knowledge about Wild Life. Gained respect internationally.

  33. Dr. S. L. Byrappa:
  34. A known literary figure of Indian Literature. He has served in Central Institute of Indian Languages also. His Novels are translated in national and international languages

  35. Dr. Vasantha Tippanna:
  36. She is an Ayurvedic Surgeon having knowledge about simple Ayurvedic treatment methods. She is also an environment consultant.

  37. Dr. K. Maralusiddappa:
  38. He is the Former Director of Karnataka Nataka Academy, a Scholar, Thinker and Winner of State and National Awards.

  39. Mr. Srinivas Prasad:
  40. He is the Central Minister for Food and Civil Supplies.

  41. Ms. Gerhild:
  42. She is from Austria. She is a Feminist cum Social Worker, who works for the betterment of women Worldwide, teaching the techniques of self-defence.

  43. Mr. Snake Shyam:
  44. He is an Environmentalist cum animal lover, who is creating a Snake friendly atmosphere in and around the state.

  45. Mr. Krishnamurthy:
  46. Tabala Maestro.

  47. Ms. Varsha:
