The construction of the new building continued at a faster pace to make it ready for the Asha Sanctuary Conference on Dec 14th.

The conference hall, two dormitories and four toilets were ready for use during the conference. The required plumbing, temporary fixing of water tank and the septic tank were ready at that time.

Many of the Asha volunteers had an opportunity to see the progress of the construction at the time of the conference.

Almost all the funds from WAH for the building has been used up at this time. The construction cost has gone up by 20% I am told. A little bit of construction is going on at this time.

As of now, the following is the status:

Completed:

To be Done:

Current donations and expenditure for the building:

Donor Source Amount
Asha - Cornell Rs. 1,02,606.00
Asha - Silicon Valley(Including for compound wall) Rs. 7,22,848.00
From Work-An-Hour 2003 Rs. 15,00,000.00
Govt. of India (SWADHAR) Rs. 12,50,000.00
Donations from Public (local) Rs. 2,30,500.00
TOTAL Rs. 38,05,954.00

Detailed accounts will be available soon.

At this time, another 30-35 lakhs is required for the completion of the building.

The second half of the grant from the government of India, which included a construction cost of Rs. 12.5 lakh has been delayed. It is not known at this time, when it will get released. So we are looking for other sources for the building.
